In the framework of the regional project WIM3, BiznesAlbania organized on 24.04.2019 the workshop on topics “The role of workers’ councils and trade unions” funded by the European Union.
The activity was attended by representatives of the employers’ organizations, representatives of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Albania (BSPSH), representatives of Autonomus Trade Union of Agriculture, Food, Trade and Tourism (SAUATT) and representatives of the CLR-Albania Employment Relations Center.
In his welcoming speech, Director of Projects and External Relations in BiznesAlbania Mr. Koli Sinjari, emphasized the role of employee councils in the company as a necessity for harmonizing work relations between employers and employees who would be represented at managerial and decision-making level. The activity was welcomed by the President of BSPSH Mr. Gezim Kalaja and the President of SAUATT Mr. Bilbil Kasmi, who also in their speeches emphasized that the role of employee councils is not in opposition to trade union movements in the company but a decent representation of the employees, and their rights, etc.
In this activity the international expert, Mrs. Valentina Franca made a detailed presentation of the role of the Employees Councils in EU, best practices and the importance of a special law for Workers’ Councils. Meanwhile the national ekspert Mr. Edison Hoxha made a presentation of the draft law of the Balkan countries. During the presentation there were constructive discussions by the participants, who gave valuable opinions and understood better the purpose of this draft law and the role that the trade unions will have.
